Malcolm Turner
Principal, Consulting
Malcolm Turner joined Wasserman Media Group in 2007 and currently leads the Consulting division. Turner is based in the company’s New York office and helps create and manage sports, entertainment, venue, and new product launch strategies for corporate clients. Additionally, he works with private investors and rights holders to evaluate new sports property and media opportunities.
Turner previously served as Senior Vice President of Raleigh, North Carolina-based sports and entertainment consulting firm OnSport, where he conceptualized, negotiated, and managed strategy for clients such as American Express, Nokia, Travelers, and Northern Trust. He was also instrumental in the launch of OnSport’s The Business of Sport curriculum and internship program at Duke University. Once a tournament official for the PGA TOUR, Turner also managed the event marketing and activation of numerous PGA TOUR tournaments. Turner holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he was a Morehead Scholar. He also earned a joint J.D./M.B.A. degree from Harvard University and is a member of the New York State Bar. While a student at Harvard, Turner was given the opportunity to work on such high-profile projects as consulting the president of Major League Baseball Properties and working with the NBA throughout the development and launch of the WNBA.
Recognized as a member of SportsBusiness Journal’s “2007 Forty Under 40” class, Turner currently resides in New York City and is a member of the Advisory Boards for Teach for America (North Carolina) and the UNC Kenan-Flager Business School.
